Robinson PTSA has scholarships available for graduating seniors who will pursue post-secondary education including vocational, two-year and four-year programs.

 

There are three different scholarships Robinson seniors can apply for: Friends of Robinson, Pamela Hickenbotham Memorial Scholarship, and the Elaine Heenan Memorial Scholarship. Each scholarship is for $1,000.00. Seniors may apply for any of the scholarships they feel they are best qualified to receive. See details below: 

 

Friends of Robinson

This scholarship is to celebrate Robinson's dedication to being kind and it honors the school's Dude Be Nice Campaign. This scholarship is for the student who exemplifies compassion and kindness towards others in their school community, and whose acts of kindness have made a positive impact on the Robinson community. Students must be nominated by their peers or teachers/staff from Robinson or may self-nominate.

 

To be nominated for this scholarship, the student must meet the following qualifying criteria: 

  • A senior enrolled at Robinson and in good standing

  • Receive passing grades in all classes

  • Nomination from members of the Robinson community, including students, faculty or staff - or self-nomination
  • Receive letters of support from at least two Robinson community members who can describe the student’s acts of kindness and compassion and the impact it has made on others in the Robinson community.
  • Plan to attend an accredited vocational, 2-year or 4-year degree granting institution

Elaine Heenan Memorial Scholarship

Mrs. Heenan was a long time extremely dedicated volunteer at Robinson Secondary who died of cancer in June 1985. Five of her six children are Robinson graduates. Her youngest daughter graduated in 1985, just a few days prior to Mrs. Heenan's death. Since 1985, a $1,000 scholarship has been awarded annually to two students who have demonstrated exemplary achievement and an ongoing commitment to provide volunteer service to the school and/or community.

 

To apply for this scholarship, the student must meet the following qualifying criteria: 

  • A senior enrolled at Robinson and in good standing

  • Academically successful

  • Demonstrated community service
  • Two letters of recommendation from people who are familiar with your service work
  • Plan to attend an accredited vocational, 2-year or 4-year degree granting institution.

Pam Hickenbotham Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is dedicated in honor of Mrs. Hickenbotham, who was kind, compassionate and caring to all those she encountered no matter what challenges or hardships she was facing. This scholarship will be awarded to a student who has overcome an emotional difficulty and who continues to inspire others with his/her shared courage and compassion.

 

To apply for this scholarship, the student must meet the following qualifying criteria: 

  • A senior enrolled at Robinson and in good standing

  • Receive passing grades in all classes

  • Two letters of support from people who are familiar with you and who can share how you continue to inspire others with your courage and compassion
  • Plan to attend an accredited vocational, 2-year or 4-year degree granting institution
