The Robinson PTSA has scholarships available to any graduating seniors who will pursue post-secondary education including vocational, two-year and four-year programs.

Elaine Heenan Memorial

Mrs. Heenan was a long time extremely dedicated volunteer at Robinson Secondary who died of cancer in June 1985. Five of her six children are Robinson graduates. Her youngest daughter graduated in 1985, just a few days prior to Mrs. Heenan's death. Since 1985, a $1,000 scholarship has been awarded annually to two students who have demonstrated exemplary achievement and an ongoing commitment to provide volunteer service to the school and/or community.

Friends of Robinson

The Friends Scholarship is presented annually in memory of all Robinson students and graduates whose lives ended before they had the opportunity to realize their full potential. Two $1000 Friends Scholarship will be awarded based primarily on a student's involvement in activities at Robinson throughout grades 9-12.


Delta Social and Academic

The Robinson Secondary School PTSA offers the Delta Scholarship for Social and Academic Achievement. This $1000 scholarship is granted to a Robinson senior who has had an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) in place for at least two out of the four in high school and has overcome obstacles on the road to either academic or social success. For this scholarship, it is not the beginning point or the ending point that counts but rather the growth along the way.



Scholarship Requirements:

1.  Must be a member of the Robinson Secondary Senior Class of 2017.
2.  Must complete an online application.
3.  Must submit two online letters of recommendation as described on application.
4.  Where applicable, must submit transcript and 7th semester report as directed in online application. 

Scholarship Process:

March 1:                 Scholarship online application open for applicants.

March 30:               Scholarship online application final submissions due.

March 30 - 2pm:     All Letters of Recommendation, transcript and GPA are due.  Transcript and GPA turned                                                     into the main office.

April 20-27:             Scholarship applications reviewed by Scholarship Review Committee.

May 5:                     Scholarship winners names submitted to Administration.

June 12:                  Scholarship awards presented to winners at Senior Awards Ceremony.

All applicants must direct those persons who will be submitting a Letter of Recommendation to these forms to submit his/her statements.

Scholarship Review Panel


Thanks to those of you who volunteered to be part of the review and selection of scholarship winners, the panel is full as of 25 April 2017 and we are no longer seeking volunteers.



  • Must be a Robinson PTSA member for 2016-2017 school year.
  • Must be over 21 years of age in the Robinson community - if you are related to a Robinson student, only those adults with students from 7th to 11th grade are eligible.
  • Employees of Robinson Secondary are not eligible.
  • Must be available from April 20-27th, 2017.
  • Must have access to the internet.

The Fairfax County Council of PTAs (FCCPTA) awards scholarships to graduating Fairfax County high school students planning to attend an accredited college/university for the 2017/18 academic year.

Scholarships are awarded to students who, among other traits, demonstrate responsibility, character, and leadership during their high school career.  Students must attend a Fairfax County high school with a PTA in good standing. The deadline to apply is April 7, 2017    Link
